Colour trends — what’s your prediction for next year?

At about this time every year, the fashion and décor world starts proclaiming the “colour of the year”. In 2016, the trend for the paint colour of the year is… white! Most paint companies offer hundreds of shades of white: off white, cream, ivory, alabaster… you get the picture. We love white for it’s versatility and ability to frame and enhance any other colour, making it the ultimate neutral. Read more about paint manufacturers and their choice of white for 2016 here.

The colour announcement that we all look forward to (and speculate on) is the Pantone colour of the year, which is announced in December. If you remember, the 2015 colour was an earthy Marsala, which we saw everywhere from fashion to cars to interior design. The predictions for 2016 are coming in, and the best bet so far is a gorgeous Peacock Blue! Check back here in December to see what the colour gurus at Pantone choose for 2016.
